The only accredited program of its kind in Canada, our Automotive Engineering program prepares engineers to meet the need for advancements in the automotive sector by accelerating research and the development of alternative technologies, such as electric and fuel-cell driven vehicles.

Our Electrical Engineering program focuses on the design and development of electrical and computer technologies, and their component parts. The integration of electrical components into complex systems is also studied.

Smart Grid specialization
The Smart Grid specialization leverages communications and networking technology to move our ageing power grid into the 21 st century. You'll study all aspects of the smart grid including networking and security, smart metering, electric energy storage systems, power quality, and transportation electrification.

The only program of its kind in Canada, our Manufacturing Engineering program is about the design and improvement of high‑tech systems for the production and manufacturing of products. This includes the development and application of advanced technologies such as robotics, automation, new materials and intelligent controls.

Our Mechanical Engineering program is one of the broadcast engineering disciplines. In this program, students will learn the principles of mechanical engineering—motion, energy, and force—and how these principles are used to design and build the world around us. Within this program, you can choose the Energy Engineering specialization or follow the comprehensive program.
Energy Engineering specialization
Energy engineering is increasingly focused on the efficient and environmentally responsible use of energy systems, as well as energy security and reliability. You will specialize in all aspects of energy—from its generation to its end use—including energy conversion, storage, transportation and distribution.

Our Mechatronics Engineering program is an interdisciplinary engineering field. It integrates mechanical and electrical systems with real-time control, combining hardware with software to produce new devices such as consumer products, medical devices, high- tech automobile systems, and robots.

The Software Engineering program focuses on the analysis, design, development and testing of reliable and secure software systems, as well as the integration of software into complex systems, and the timely and cost-effective delivery of software systems, that meet changing requirements. The program applies both computer science and engineering principles.
