Meet the Team
Jill
Jill is a Social Worker, registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She did her BA in Psychology at Bishop’s University and her M.Ed. in Counselling at McGill University. A fun fact about Jill is that she loves golf. Jill is passionate about working with students with disabilities and supporting them to reach their full potential.
Kaleigh
Kaleigh is a registered Occupational Therapist with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. After graduating from the Ontario Tech BHSc Kinesiology program, she then completed her Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto. As an Ontario Tech alumni, Kaleigh is delighted to return to the University and serve its community of learners through an accessibility lens. Outside of the office, Kaleigh enjoys going on hikes, playing piano, travelling, and baking (especially cookies!)
Kelsey
Kelsey is a Registered Recreation Therapist and completed her degree in Disability Studies from Toronto Metropolitan University. Prior to joining the team at Ontario Tech, Kelsey worked in the not-for-profit space creating and managing skill development programs for individuals with disabilities. Kelsey is an avid runner and is currently training to complete her second half marathon. Kelsey has strong passion for improving the lives of individuals with disabilities through advocacy, training and awareness and encourages all to continue to take steps to break down disability stigma in our communities.
Marina
Marina is a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO). Having graduated from the University of Toronto with her Bachelor’s of Science, she then completed her Master’s of Clinical Science at Western University. She enjoys spending time with friends and discovering new music and local food spots. Marina wants to ensure that each student is seen as an individual and is given the necessary supports to help them succeed!
Mindy
Mindy completed her bachelor’s degree at Trent University, an Advanced Child and Youth Worker Diploma and a Addictions and Mental Health Graduate Certificate at Durham College. Mindy has over 10 years experience supporting students in a post-secondary institution. Mindy enjoys exploring the outdoors, some of her favourite activities are hiking, canoeing and paddle boarding. Mindy is passionate about breaking down barriers for students with disabilities and creating learning strategies that aid in student success.
Waad
Waad completed a Master’s in Critical Disability Studies at York University focusing on access to healthcare for immigrants with disabilities in Canada and social risk factors for chronic health conditions. Previously, she’s completed an Honours Bachelor's of Science degree at University of Toronto. Waad is passionate about holistic disability advocacy and ensuring students are heard, understood and equitably accommodated during their educational journeys. Outside of the office, Waad enjoys spending time with her friends and family, exploring new nature spots and trying different coffee shops.
