Automated Test Centre email notification
Automated Test Centre email notification:
The instructor on file will receive an email seven working days prior and again three working days prior to the scheduled assessment date. This will include accommodated time calculations and who these students are. If you do not see a student listed in the notification email, they may have chosen to forgo their testing accommodations.
Please note: The test/quiz duration is added by the student only; TCIS has no access to your Canvas and does not know the duration of assessments. TCIS depends on faculty to review the email notification and make appropriate changes to duration if they are incorrectly scheduled by the student. Please ensure you contact the Test Centre with this information, so we can update the student listing in your SAS Instructor Portal.
Contact the Test Centre if you notice any issues.
Uploading assessments to the SAS Faculty Portal
Uploading assessments to the SAS Faculty Portal:
Upload your assessment details to the SAS Faculty Portal a minimum of three working days prior to the scheduled assessment. Make sure you fill in an Invigilator cover sheet, despite what format your assessment is in.
TCIS needs information such as the location of the assessment, contact information and allowable aids. These are key details that are needed to ensure the delivery of your assessment, and provides staff, students and invigilators with the most accurate information.
How to add extra time in Canvas
How to add extra time to Canvas:
Visit the Teaching and Learning Centre's Canvas resources
Please note: Both part A and part B must be followed on the Invigilator sheet, in order to provide a student with extra time on an assessment.

The student(s) assessments will be securely kept in the Test Centre until the instructor or their authorized Teaching Assistant—as noted on the Invigilator cover page—comes to pick it up. However, it's recommended that the assessment be picked up within a week from the assessment date.Online assessments: Accommodated testing process
