One-on-One Support

Our one-on-one supports for career readiness are available for current students as well as recent graduates. We offer support in the form of career counselling and employment advising. In addition to one-on-one support, we offer group support in the form of workshops.

  • In-person appointments are by appointment only and can be booked on the Student Life Portal.
  • In-person appointments are available Monday through Friday in Shawenjigewining Hall and Charles Hall.
  • Virtual appointments are available Monday through Friday.

 

Career Counselling

Meet with a career counsellor to discuss your career-related questions or concerns and for support with your career development process.

  • Coping with stress and anxiety related to career next steps.
  • Coping with pressure from other people about what you should do.
  • Identifying interests and strengths and connecting them to what you want in your career and life.
  • Building your confidence in your career decision-making abilities and your future.

  • Having interests that don’t match your degree.

Our Career Counsellors hold a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology. As trained counsellors with a career focus, they help you learn more about yourself, explore life and career-related goals and identify how your unique qualities align with broader career areas. They take a non-judgmental approachthis means they will not tell you what to do. Instead, they work collaboratively with you and provide support as you explore your plan for the future.

Employment Advising

Meet with an employment advisor to receive personalized assistance with your resumé, cover letter and interviewing skills to prepare for your job search.

BOOK AN APPOINTMENT WITH AN EMPLOYMENT ADVISOR

Students may meet with an advisor for a maximum of three appointments per semester. If you book an appointment and do not attend and do not cancel, then the booking will count towards your total number of available appointments per semester.
